Seven-year-old Chanelle Wangari is the new Africa Junior Golf Championships(AJC).
Wangari clinched the victory with a total of 137 nett to lift this year’s continental girls under 10 title at Zebula County Club and Elements County Club golf courses in South Africa.
“I feel very happy and proud. I had been practicing a lot and I knew I was going to bring the trophy home,” says an elated Wangari, a class two pupil at Makini Junior School.
On the first day of the five day tournament, Wangari scored 52 nett and on the second day she took the lead with 43 nett before recording a further 42 nett on the final day for a total of 137 to carry the day.
She becomes the youngest non-handicap African champion to ever achieve that fete before 10.
The victory automatically qualifies her for the 2015 World Junior Golf Championship to be held in Pinehurst, USA in July and the European Junior Golf Tour in April 2015 in Scotland. nike air max cheap uk mens nike air max cheap uk mens
