Since earning their places in the MercedesTrophy Kenya competition, the trio have devoted many hours to sharpening their game to try to qualify for the MercedesTrophy final. This will consist of three rounds of tournament golf in Stuttgart, Germany at an international level and will be held from October 1st to 6th.
The team captain Willie Getata, the DT Dobie Government and Institutional Sales Manager, has joined the team for practice sessions. The build up for the Regional Final included sessions at a golf range to help the individuals in the Kenya team to strive to win the “Drive to the Major” competition in Salzburg. This involves golfers trying to be the closest to a marked line on a fairway.
The winner will earn luxury accommodation at St. Andrews in Scotland for the British Open which will be held between July 15th to 20th. The prize will be a spot in the “Monday After event” which will be played immediately after the Open at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. The package also offers access to the Mercedes Benz hospitality area.”
