EDWIN MUDANYI, SAIKWA BECOME THE LATEST INCLUSION TO NATIONAL TEAM FOR EA CHALLENGE AFTER WINNING QUALIFIER

The young brother to professional golfer Nelson Mudanyi, Edwin and Royal Nairobi Golf Club’s Dennis Saikwa are the latest entrants to the national team, thanks to their impressive performance in the 36-hole Kenya Golf Union (KGU) qualifying tournament at Vet Lab Golf Club.

The duo will join six other players who have been selected from the latest Golf Of The Year series standings, to represent the country at this year’s East Africa golf championships in Rwanda later this month.

The qualifying round that ended on Tuesday saw home player Mudanyi playing off handicap two emerge the winner on seven over after the two rounds where they played from the blue tees, while Saikwa playing off scratch secured the second qualifying slot after posting 11 over. Samuel Keitany also of Vet lab was third in the qualifying tournament on 15 over.

Other members of the team include reigning golfer of the year John Karichu of Limuru (+2), Royal’s Kenneth Bollo (+1), recently crowned Manchester Salver winner Justus Madoya (+1) of Great Rift Valley, John Kariuki (+1) and Golf Park’s Anthony Kinuthia (2), going by their performance in the Goty series. nike air max trainers nike air max trainers
